This Friday we present a mashup of titans Steamboat Fattie and DJ K-Tel just for you modern pagans.

Steamboat Fattie is one guy who’s definitely got more bounce to the ounce. Mark’s been playing out for well over a decade that i know of. from his days hosting dance parties at his glorified downtown-eastside photo studio flophouse (if you remember – you weren’t there) to his years long residencies at Subeez and Falconetti’s and on up highway 99 to co-produce Funkoree for some of the luckiest people in BC – he is hands down one of the finest dance floor deejays Vancouver’s shaken it’s booty to. Ever. Look forward to a very deep and groovy, all-vinyl set where ravers & rockers collide in a Funk Sandwich!

Lindsay Tomchyshen (DJ Hubbz) began as a self-taught DJ in Saskatoon. Since putting out his first mixtape in ’98, Hubbz has faithfully released a mix every six months. What sets Hubbz apart from the mainstream is his ability to meld unexpected genres, using his talent to incorporate funk, disco, rock, reggae, breaks, d’n’b, hip-hop, and even country into one unique sound.

Evo and Hubbz manage Canada’s #1 record store, Beat Street Records. For the past 3 years together they have been playing their weekly Saturday night, The Payback, a night of funk, breaks and beyond.

Mr. Bigstuff

is a Canadian music legend. Formerly of the rap group Organized Rhyme with rhyme partner and comedian Tom Green, Bigstuff has seen it all. The Stunt Man and Bigstuff had a production studio in Vancouver for years, co-produced the band StinkMItt, dj’ed many parties and performed dozens of shows in Van with a 9 piece funk band known as The Bigstuff Production. Now relocated back in his home town of Ottawa, Bigstuff in running things there with his new crew: The Sound Syndicate.

it’s was almost midnight when i got the call. barely awake, i was skimming shaw brothers mini docs on youtube like a zombie (chiang sheng!@#$%). “do you and duffy wanna play this week at the bunker?” whispered the stun…t man over a crackly line. “hell yeah!” apparently mad love is out of town this week so it’s up to us to set the MOOD(S). maintaining that friday night funk ultimate party feel (TSM’s #1 brand of 80s/rap/R&B), but w/ sipreano and the DJ who may or may not be known as dancing bear’s wild-style vinyl selections (more 80s/mid-tempo rock/euro/sleeze/reggae/weird shit)… so there you have it. DANCE CRAZE. this friday. the bunker. hot DAMN it’s ON!!! like needles//pins, totally stoked. we should eat korean food afterward… PEACE 2010!!!
